Good morning, readers! If you saw my three new Press Releases from OPI on the blog this week, you know there will soon be 2 more Designer Series polishes! I have them both for you today, so let’s check out the Polished Quartz lacquers: DS Tourmaline and DS Titanium!

This fall, OPI introduces a new Polished Quartz formula with two new semi-precious stone-inspired hues – DS Tourmaline and DS Titanium – to the Designer Series by OPI collection. Each Designer Series Polished Quartz nail lacquer features a semi-matte finish with intense three-dimensional sparkle.

OPI DS Tourmaline
A shimmery rose.
WOW, this color is so girly and shimmery on. I’m showing two coats below with no top coat. Top coat is an option, but I wanted to wear theme alone to show off their semi-matte finish. I wouldn’t call them a texture, they are mostly smooth but not as much as if you had used top coat. The glitters and shimmer are intense and lovely!

OPI DS Titanium
A glittery dark silver.
I’m showing three thin coats below with no top coat. As with DS Tourmaline, the shimmer and glitters are awesome and I love them with this dark gray base. I will mention that because these are so packed with shimmers and glitter, I recommend that you don’t try to manipulate them too much on the nail and let each coat dry before adding the next or they can wipe a bit off. Love!

What do you think of these new Designer Series shades by OPI

Hi Jacki, your swatches are lovely! Personally, these Polished Quartz items from OPI are not my cup of tea. But you've got to appreciate OPI's attempts to please a wide range of tastes.

thanks for the swatches! i thought i would like tourmaline better than titanium, but it's actually the other way around after seeing pictures 🙂

Tourmaline looks pretty similar to Essence's Hey Mister Sandman. I don't think they're identical but it reminds me of that one. I really like Titanium!
