Raindrops on Yeti’s Broken Heart

In Elevation Polish, Illamasqua, Moyou London, Stamping by Jacki12 Comments

Good morning, readers! I have a manicure that I probably should have worn the week of Valentine’s Day today. And technically the title is a big backwards, but it sounded cuter than Yeti’s Broken Heart on Raindrops.

Anyway,  I’ve been wanting to use some of my untrieds this week and I used 2 in this look so YAY for that! Elevation Polish (LE) Yeti’s Broken Heart looks amazing over Illamasqua Raindrops.Elevation Polish Yeti's Broken Heart 1

I started with three coats of the jelly Illamasqua Raindrops. It has these really awesome flakes in the gray and I almost wore it alone after I put it on. Then, I realized I never got to wear this Elevation Polish topper. Yeti’s Broken Heart was a great match over a gray base, the hearts popped against the neutral base. My accent nail is a stamp image from Moyou Princess Plate 11 using Illamasqua Seance.Elevation Polish Yet's Broken Heart 2
What do you think? I really liked how these came out. Just a splash of color but still a “palette cleanser.” Thanks so much for reading!

Gorgeous! I already wanted that Illamasqua Raindrops polish and now I want that glitter topper too> I Love those little purple hearts. And the black ones. Sooo cute.

Jacki, how do you choose a gray polish that is flattering to your skin tone? They always seem to look awful on me, but I adore your mani and your skin still looks fresh and pretty. Thank you for this inspiration today!

thank you! I know there are some gray polishes that lean more blue and grays that lean more yellow. Maybe one works better for your skin tone than the other? like a "warmer" vs a "cooler" tone.

That's sort of what I was thinking, too — thank you for the advice! I will have to compare polishes with that in mind because I do think the cooler/ more blue-based tones are better on me.

You're welcome! A favorite cooler toned gray creme that I LOVEEEEE is Sinful Colors Cool Gray. If you can still find it, I definitely recommend it. Its great for nail art and it only barely needs two coats if you want to wear it as your full mani. I need to look for a backup.
